WEC works in 9 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and also seconds workers to partner organisations and churches in other countries.
Our teams seek to work together with local churches to show and speak of the compassion of Jesus to those who have not heard in order to see churches established among them. WEC in Africa also seeks to mobilize and facilitate local Christians for cross cultural mission.
This is an exciting time for the African continent - many challenges but also many opportunities. Why not join us in the adventure?
Chad
Chad
Chad has well over 100 distinct ethnic groups. We have many opportunities to serve people in Jesus' name, through urban outreach, teaching English, working with students, helping the poor, using the media and much more. We work with several unreached peoples including nomads.
There are so many unreached peoples here and, for the moment, a great freedom to work.
The time is now!

Democratic Republic of Congo
Democratic Republic of Congo
A new day is dawning in DR Congo…
WEC has a long, rich history in DR Congo, and has now started a new work, focussing on radical discipleship and mobilising for mission.
Our primary, but not exclusive, focus is among young people.
We want to see a new generation rising up in Congo:
with a passion for Jesus,
a passion for God’s word
and a passion for mission
A growing team
We're currently a small team, and are looking for long term workers to join us in realising this vision

Ghana
Ghana
WEC has been working in Ghana since 1940, sharing the Good News and helping to establish the church, especially among the unreached peoples of the North. This passion for the lost continues to this day as WEC Ghana continues to work among the remaining unreached peoples.
Vision
to see vibrant, multiplying churches established and communities transformed by God’s power among the unreached peoples of northern Ghana.
Focus
WEC Ghana is seeking to share the love of Christ by using a holistic approach.
Currently the work is based in the three regional capitals of northern Ghana at Tamale in the Northern Region, Wa in the Upper West Region and Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
If you would like to know more about opportunities to serve with WEC in Ghana, contact your nearest WEC branch office.
Activities:
Church planting
WEC is working in partnership with the Evangelical Church of Ghana to plant churches in places where currently there are no churches and especially among the unreached peoples of Ghana.
Educational Projects
A particular felt need among the communities of northern Ghana is for good quality education that will give young people better opportunities for employment. Educational projects therefore are a key feature of WEC's holistic approach to mission in Ghana.
Mission House
WEC has a Mission house in Accra, the capital city of Accra. The Accra Mission House offers self-catering accommodation to WEC members and other visitors travelling in and out of Ghana
Guinea Bissau
Guinea Bissau
Guinea-Bissau is small country in West Africa sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean on the west, Senegal on the north and Republic of Guinea on the east and south. About 1.5 million live there, with more coming from nearby countries as well as Nigeria and Asia. Area is about 36,000 square kilometres. The climate is tropical with a rainy season between June to October and dry season November to May.
WEC Guinea-Bissau's vision:
'to plant multiplying churches among the Balanta Mane, Biafada, Fula, Mandinka and Nalu/Susu peoples in Guinea-Bissau.'
WEC is working in multicultural teams, together with the Evangelical Church of Guinea-Bissau, to bring the Good News to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear. It is our desire to encourage and to disciple those who want to serve the Lord Jesus by providing suitable training to help each member to grow spiritually and to minister to others.
New believers are taught from the beginning to share the Good News with those who have not yet heard, taught how to disciple new believers and to accept the responsibilities of being members of the body of Christ.

Mozambique
Mozambique
WEC has opened a new work in the beautiful, but isolated north east of the country, amongst an unreached people group.
They are fishermen, many of them poor, and living complicated lives without hope.
Of the 120,000 (or so) there are just a handful of believers at present, who meet very informally. They have the NT in their language, a radio station and a team from another agency is reaching out further south.
The WEC team is very small and we are praying for more workers to join it: men and women who have a passion for Jesus and compassion for these people.
There are many opportunities using friendship, media (using SIM cards), literacy, education, medical and community skills.
Portuguese is the official language but the local language must be learnt to live and serve effectively amongst these people.
For further information and enquiries, please contact your nearest WEC branch office.
Senegal
Senegal
The vision of WEC in Senegal is to see every people and language group of Senegal knowing, loving and worshipping Jesus.
We believe we will see this happen as we commit to workers sharing the good news of Jesus creatively, sensitively and abundantly amongst the people in urban centres and rural areas, reaching both adults and children.
We want to see groups of disciples emerging and communities of disciples belonging to Jesus formed who understand and obey the great commission.
As well as church planting, another essential ministry in Senegal is BCS, Bourafaye Christian School, for missionaries' children. The school serves Christian workers in many West African countries and provides quality schooling for children aged 8-16.
